Yunohost is an open source operating system that aims to make self hosting simple with built in security features and easy to deploy website applications. For the average user that is just getting started with DIY onsite web hosting, Yunohost is a great option that allows you to quickly host a variety of web apps on your own terms.

PrivateRouter will pre-configure your requested apps and domains on Yunohost prior to shipment. You can also browse the available apps and add or remove web services to your domains at anytime as well as configure specific user permissions or modify public/private access for each app.

The number of simultaneous applications you can host on one box is limited to the speed and performance of your device. Yunohost is capable of hosting multiple domains, countless apps, and providing a reliable hosting platform for a small to medium userbase. That said, it’s not intended to be a full scale solution to host serve thousands of users. For those that need a production ready server that can scale with larger growth, we suggest using Docker.

This is largely due to key features that include a high-performance 64-bit quad-core processor, dual-display support at resolutions up to 4K via a pair of micro-HDMI ports, hardware video decode at up to 4Kp60, 4GB of RAM, dual-band 2. 4/5. 0 GHz wireless LAN, Bluetooth 5. 0, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3. 0, and PoE capability (via a separate PoE HAT add-on). The dual-band wireless LAN and Bluetooth have modular compliance certification, allowing the board to be designed into end products with significantly reduced compliance testing, improving both cost and time to market. Although users will be limited to ARM specific web applications, this device is extremely powerful and can run a long list of applications without skipping a beat.
